Twitter is a fast way to communicate with people.  You can follow a group or just certain people such as celebrities.  Last night, I learned how to implement twitter into my classroom. I teach early childhood (Kindergarten) so I would not use it with my students but I would use it for the parents.  It would be a another way to communicate and it would be faster than email.  

I'm not sure if I like twitter.  It might be because I am not that familiar with it yet.  I am going to try to become more familiar with it because I promised that I would learn new things in this class.   So if you would like to follow me I'm at @HeidiFisher3.

Last night I had the opportunity to experience diigo!  I must say this is a wonderful tool for students, teachers, and other professionals.  I wish I had known about it when i was going to school for my undergrad. 

Diigo is a way for anybody to collect websites, join groups, highlight texts with notes, and I think the best thing about diigo is that you can access it from any computer.  All of your favorite websites are saved or bookmarked and if your computer crashes, no worries because you can log into another computer and have all your information right there available for you to use!  And guess what?  It's free!  Just go to www.diigo.com and set up an account.  It is user friendly. 

I am using Diigo for educational and professional purposes.  I am saving documents, images, and the websites i mostly use on a daily basis.  Whether, it's at home or at school for my students.  I really like it because yet again, if somthing were to happen to my computer i can access everything from another computer. 

    Why technology?  Well, why not?  Technology is only going to expand as we approach the future.  By future, I mean everyday. 
     Every week I learn something new about technology.  Tonight I learned how to construct my own website using ht weebly and I have to admit it feels incredible!  It's a whole new way to communicate with the world!  This will be a great way to communicate and keep my parents updated within my classroom.  I will also use this for my students so that they can watch videos, view slideshows, and utilize the site for communication.  
    The video at the bottom has astonishing statitics and it will make you think twice about what the world will be like in the next few years, especially for teachers, since we are teaching the future we need to stay up to date on the latest technologies to better serve our students.
